“Don’t wait for opportunity, create it!”Becoming a teacher is both an exciting and a challenging endeavor. Carlyn Ann Canillo, a graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education Major in General Education at the University of Cebu. Teachers hold a unique and indispensable role in the society. Teachers lives are a unique blend of devotion, inspiration and resilience. It is not just a profession, it’s a calling, a vocation that touches hearts and transform minds. After I graduated, I applied to many jobs and the ESL industry attracts me the most because teaching is my passion. Online ESL Industry that molded me in my 3 years’ experience. I’ve got to teach different nationalities in all levels. It’s quite difficult but fun because being a teacher is a profoundly rewarding yet challenging experience.Life is full of unexpected challenges, and one of the most devastating challenges I faced was the loss of my parents. Losing both of them was an emotional ordeal that left an incredible mark in my life. It was the loss of my pillars of support, my confidants and my source of unwavering love and guidance. I had to navigate a multitude of responsibilities for my siblings and for myself. This serve as an enormous challenge for me and I was forced to become a part time student because I want to finish my studies. I want to graduate to have a good job to sustain myself and my siblings. This situation has been a catalyst for personal growth, becoming stronger, braver and being wise in this world. Enjoying the present time while contemplating my future and gaining knowledge from past failures molded me to where I am today. I envision myself as a successful professional, a wellrounded person, and a person with great personal relationships, even when the future is unpredictable. In addition, I consider myself to be receptive to new experiences and dedicated to my own development.
